That's an easy question. People who charge you upfront fees for publishing your book. Those types of publishing companies are called either vanity or as they like to call themselves, hybrid. So avoid any publisher or agent who wants upfront money.
I've been writing novels since 2015. I have genres that interest me, so why not write about them. I switched from Zombies to detective/action adventure about a year or so ago.
