A high school teacher challenged me to complete NaNoWriMo (Write a novel in a month). She said that if I did, I could skip assignments for the rest of the year and still get an A. 23 days later, I completed my first book. 11 years after that, I still participate in NaNoWriMo every year, and my first book has been published with more on the way!
