Don't give up. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Focus on your own words, on your own stories, and don't let anyone tell you that you cannot do it. Write what you want, don't change your voice to 'sound' like someone else. You have a natural talent, let it free.
I started writing when I was 13, it was purely short stories, mostly paranormal, and only when I was much older did I write dark romances, and more adult stories. I've always had a vivid imagination, I enjoyed creating worlds, characters, and taking them through emotional turmoil to ultimately allow them to get their HEA.
