        • No worries at all, I completely understand and I appreciate your response. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the writing process; that's really the heart of it, isn't it?

I can definitely relate to the challenge of marketing, it can feel like a whole different world from writing. I’ve been working with a marketing agency that’s been helping me get my books in front of a wider audience and it’s made a real difference. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to connect you with them.

Let me know, and I can send over the details.

      • Hi, Volker. I apologize for the delay in answering your question. Having my first book, Reflections of a Misfit, published broke the ice for me, and I've been writing ever since. How about you?

        • No need to apologize, I’m glad to hear from you! Congratulations on publishing Reflections of a Misfit, getting that first book out into the world is such a big step, and it’s great to hear it opened the door to more writing for you.

For me, it started with journalism. I always had a deep interest in history, particularly the atmosphere of 1920s and 30s Berlin, a city full of tension, creativity, and change. That fascination led me to fiction and, eventually, to creating Inspector Gereon Rath and his world.

      • Hi, Raven,

I think my favorite part of writing is being in the flow and feeling the story evolve as I write it. I love my characters, who often lead the plot where they want to take it. I also enjoy researching and the fascinating rabbit holes research takes me into. As satisfying as getting to "the end" may be, it always leaves me a little sad.
