Hi, I’m James Clear—author of Atomic Habits. I always enjoy connecting with fellow writers. I'd love to hear a bit about your writing journey. How did you get started?
Hi James, nice to hear from you. I started writing after an accident many years ago. I couldn't walk for a while and had a story (kids) that I wanted to write. It was a difficult topic at the time (1980's) as I wanted to warn kids that if they get lost, they had to find the correct person to ensure their safety. After a couple of years (in those days you sent it out, waited, sent it out, waited...you've probably done that too;-)) It was finally published by traditional publishers and I used to go into schools showing the kids how books are made and getting them to make their own. How about you?
Hello,
I’m Raven Kennedy, a fellow author. I admire your work and wanted to connect. What’s been the most rewarding part of your writing journey so far?
Hi Raven, how's things? I think the most rewarding part of my writing journey was after my first children's book, 'Naughty Nigel Runs Away!" was published. It took a long time to finally get a traditional publisher, but I then went into schools to show how books are made and would spend a few days working with the children who would make their own books. The publisher gave me all the proofs so that I could make hand-outs for the kids. It was amazing and really rewarding!
I was inspired to write by my love for fantasy and the need to create emotional, transformative stories. I'm passionate about characters who grow through pain, and the support from readers keeps me motivated every day.
I absolutely love your book cover ,it looks amazing! I also noticed your book has a few reviews on Amazon. May I ask what strategies you've been using to promote it?
Hi Charles, I'm fine - how about you? I have a few ideas for a second book on i4Ni, but I think I have to see how this one goes on release at the end of August. How about you?
Doing well, thanks, always more irons in the fire than time allows. Smart move waiting to see how i4Ni lands before diving into book two. That said, I’m curious, are you thinking of continuing in the same tonal lane, or branching into something darker or more speculative with the sequel?
Like you say Charles about 'more irons' - I've got a couple of children's stories in mind and also some ideas for i4Ni book two. At the moment it's more about trying to fathom out best ways of marketing that don't cost a fortune. I think this can sometimes be harder than the writing!

Hi Monna, you're doing well with your books then;-) You're going to have to put a few tips on here with all of the knowledge and experience you've gained!
I'm Judith Hermann, I love connecting with fellow writers it’s always fascinating to hear how others found their way into storytelling. How did your writing journey begin?
Hi Judith, how are you? My writing began after a serious accident - I couldn't work, my wife and I had two young children and I decided to find something I could do from home. I studied and took a writing course and went from there. It is not one of the best jobs if you need a regular income though, is it!
