A good cover and title are essential. There are so many books out there, and as readers, we can't read every blurb or synopsis to see if a book will interest us. But if the cover or title catches our attention, we stop scrolling or browsing the bookshelf and pick it up for a closer look.
Character development is vital to a good story. If you can fall in love with a character and truly empathize with them, the book will not only be enjoyable, it will be memorable.
