Tysheka Wright Interview Published on: 18, Mar 2025

How has your faith in God shaped your journey as an author?

My faith in God has shaped my journey as an author by allowing me to be confident to share my story, believing He was with me! He gave me instructions to write my story, so I will be a blessing to someone! I’m learning to trust the things I can’t see and trust Him, because He didn’t bring me this far to leave nor forsake me. He has purpose for my testimony.

What specific moments in your life led you to fully trust in God and surrender to His plan?

The specific moment which lead me too Christ is when my friend passed away in 2020. I knew I couldn’t continue to live with my addictions to drinking and sexual immorality, or I would be in a relationship with another man, creating another soul tie and my drinking would have intensified, causing more problems I wouldn’t be ready for.

As I sat in my car in grief after his funeral, God said, “He can deliver me, but I had to trust him!

Can you share a scripture or biblical principle that has been foundational to your writing and life philosophy?

Isaiah 54:17- No weapon formed against me shall prosper!

How do you incorporate your love for God into your writing?

I incorporated my love for God in my writing by being obedient, trusting Him fully, sharing the trials I experienced, and not feel ashamed or condemned because He is the ultimate judge.

How do you stay spiritually grounded and inspired while working on your projects?

I stayed spiritually grounded by staying around like believers and incorporating daily fellowship with him! I’m currently enrolled in two discipleship classes: God I Got Questions by Angel Wright and Masterlife available at Tabernacle Ministries, both located in Georgia. Both ministries are allowing me to have personal experiences with my Father and allowing me to draw near to Him and He is drawing near to me.

What message do you hope readers take away from your book, “Someone Else: This Is My Story” and how does it reflect your faith?

The message I pray that readers take away from my story is to not go down the road to destruction! Stop! Give your life over to my Father and he will make a way! Without my Father you are nothing; stay connected to the Vine and you will bear much fruit!

It reflects my faith by knowing if God told me to write my story, I trust that my story will reflect who needs to hear it. He’s the beginning and the end, and if he brought me too it, He will complete. I know God has beyond my imagination and I want it!

Were there any challenges you faced in aligning your writing with God’s purpose for you? How did you overcome them?

Yes, financially, but I trusted God to supply what I needed to have my manuscript reviewed. He didn’t fail me and did over and beyond!

I was super satisfied with Ellyn Franklin, in Fiverr, far as the developmental editing because there were scenes needed more details, if that makes sense. She gave me different perspectives to pull out the information, which required me to sit with myself and think! Not only was I trying to make the story complete, but it was therapeutic!

How has trusting in God helped you grow as an author and a person?

As a person, I know who I am and who’s I am because His word tells me so. I learned to not listen to how man view me because I’m fearfully and wonderfully made, adopted by Him! He’s a Father of good things, and when I trust in him with all my heart and lean not on my understanding and in all my ways, not some but all, acknowledge him, and he will direct my path. I did it my way long enough and was tired of going in circles. Now, I’m allowing God to direct in all areas of my life.

How do you handle criticism or setbacks in your writing career while remaining steadfast in your faith?

Whew! Long as I’m on this earth I will wrestle with spirit and principalities. I know it’s not the individual but an inward issue, which cant be handled in the flesh. What do I do? I use the ultimate weapon which hasn’t lost a case: the Word! If I try to fight criticism in my own strength, I will lose. I’m standing firm in my faith which is the truth and it will set me free!

How do you see your writing as part of the work God has called you to do?

I see my writing as part of the work God has called me to do by people knowing where I came from as a sinner, and that I walk and talk differently, compared to what I shared in my story. God called me because he knew I would be willing to share my story, raw and uncut without hesitation. He know me better than I know myself.

What feedback or reactions from readers have confirmed for you that you are fulfilling His purpose?

I have had readers reach out because they were inspired by the content I put on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. I put inspiring reels based on my journey encouraging there is hope! They look forward in reviewing my content daily and now we have a relationship! I also have positive feedback on Amazon saying my manuscript is relatable to their situation. You see, it’s a two way street. I need them just as they need me for encouragement and inspiration! Iron sharpens iron!

Who are some people or experiences that have influenced your faith and writing the most?

People who have influenced my writing the most is The Resilient Black Women on Clubhouse and the SpeakUpSis community! I asked God to place me around people moving in the same direction. I asked and he delivered! A true group of encouraging women!

What treasures are you storing up for heaven through your writing?

The treasures Im storing up in heaven is through my writing are spreading positive messages uplifting my readers! My message will let them see how I operate and they will want to have a personal relationship with my Father.

What advice would you give to aspiring authors who want to write with faith and purpose as their foundation?

Get started! Keep your eyes on God and don’t focus on your circumstances. He is the problem solver! You may not have experienced sexual immorality, drug abuse, or alcoholism, but you have a story no matter how big or small! Your story will impact someone.

How did you first discover AllAuthor, and what appealed to you about its services?

I discovered AllAuthor through KDP and by Dr. Latoya McElroy, who also is an author on AllAuthor.

I like AllAuthor for the exposure and how it helped promote my message through social media. I’m truly thankful !
