Review
I read this book with my 6-year-old daughter. We both loved it from start to finish, my daughter was so engrossed that she found it a little emotional in places. It encouraged lots of discussion about life cycles of insects as well as having a growth mind-set and being a good person.
I loved the beautiful, detailed, bright illustrations, which really guided you through the story, making the main characters and their surroundings come to life.
I loved Bramley, he is such a strong determined character, with the courage to do what is right to help friends, and never giving up even when it seems impossible. He becomes who he needs to be to protect others and takes on the role of father with no hesitation.
My daughter love the character Bee, as she was kind, caring, strong and a good sibling who stayed calm.
This is a great book from both a story and educational perspective and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2022🐝 This is such a magical book that I think elementary teachers should invest in to read to their classes and parents to read to their children. The vivid and immensely beautiful illustrations will surely keep the readers engaged while immersing themselves in this imaginative story.
🦋 As an adult reading this book, the addition of the ‘Z’ sounds at the ends of words were a bit distracting. Obviously, the purpose is to make it sound like a bee would sound if one was able to talk. I do think children would love the addition of these sounds, though, and since the book is geared towards them, it is a clever addition by Oliver.
🐝 This would make a perfect teacher gift for earlier elementary teachers. I think they would be grateful to have such a spectacular book in their classroom libraries!
🦋Thank you to @lovebookstours and @ventorrospress for the #Gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is a terrific kids story that will also delight and entertain any mummy or daddy reading it to their little bees. The setting is magical, the characters are well-crafted - you'll get attached to them for sure - and the book strikes a great balance of emotions for kids: not too scary, but just enough to give the plot some pep; moving without being sappy. All round a really pleasant read. Highly recommended.

You follow Bramley a bee who is left with the task of watching over some every important babies and make sure to keep them safe. Bramley ends up watching these babies as they grow into something special.
This is a great children books that kept me entertained as to what was going to happen next. And I have to say the illustration in this book was beautiful. I would high recommend reading this with your kids I think both of you will enjoy this book

The Butterfly Bee Lady and The Bee is a unique, beautifully written and illustrated children’s story. Throughout the story there are lessons that children can take from such as family is what you make it. The Butterfly Bee Lady trusts a Bramley to take care of her children and those eggs see Bramley as part of their family even though he isn’t the same as them. This story shows friends stepping up for one another and determination. This is worth reading with the children in your life

5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual imaginative storyline
I purchased this a couple of weeks ago to read to my grandchildren while their parent's went for a much needed 'date night'. My youngest granddaughter absolutely fell in love with the story and takes the book everywhere with her, and has even had the teacher reading it to her class in school. It's getting a tad dog eared now but is a much loved new book and up to now the favourite of the year. A huge hit for us all and we can't wait for book 2 to come!

Even though this is a children's book, I think it can be read by anyone from 9 to 90. The story keeps one enthralled and is beautifully written. I can't wait for the sequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully written and illustrated.
I read this book with my son and both really loved it. With a sister in law who is an illustrator I know how hard it is to bring characters to life, the author has done this with words and illustrations. The colours just pop out at you. I am definitely purchasing the next book and recommend it to for ages.
