Quest for Redemption delivers an emotional punch with action, loyalty, and unexpected twists. Dan Uselton deepens the story of Sven and her family, raising the stakes while exploring what it truly means to fight for those you love. A compelling, post-apocalyptic adventure you won’t want to put down.

In Quest for Redemption, Dan Uselton delivers an intense and engaging second installment in his Quest for Survival series. I was immediately drawn into Sven’s world as she fights to survive the harsh realities of a slave ship while trying to hold onto her sanity in a nightmarish dream-state simulation. The stakes are high, and Uselton does a fantastic job of making me feel every bit of Sven's struggle and desperation. I found myself rooting for her as she navigates complex relationships, especially with Ryker, whose intentions and loyalties are constantly in question.

The writing is vivid and immersive, though at times, the rapid shifts between the real world and the simulation left me feeling a bit disoriented. I think that’s intentional—it mirrors Sven’s own confusion—but it might not work for everyone. What stood out to me most were the themes of psychological resilience and freedom, which added a deeper layer beyond the action-packed plot. The relationship dynamics, especially Sven’s growing connection with Ryker, are intense, creating both romantic and emotional tension.

Fans of dystopian adventures like The Hunger Games or The Maze Runner will likely enjoy this, though the story definitely goes darker and grittier in places. Overall, I found Quest for Redemption to be a gripping, if sometimes overwhelming, read. If you’re into dystopian survival stories with a psychological twist, it’s worth picking up. I’m excited to see where Uselton takes Sven’s journey next!

This is the second book in the Quest For Survival series. Set 700 years after a catastrophic comet wipes out most animals and humans, Sven discovers a new race on Earth—the Ka-shark. She is captured along with two members of her clan by the Ka-shark and finds herself on a slave ship bound for the Ka-shark capital in Southern Mexico, where her destiny awaits her. Fast-paced and captivating.

I have to admit that this series is very original. The only thing I didn't like was that the book dragged on at times... But overall, it's okay. ;)

Book number two of the Quest For Survival saga. I really like stories set in post-apocalyptic worlds and this book, like the first, fascinated me. Perhaps a book designed more for young people but which adults will certainly enjoy reading too. Well described characters and captivating plot.
I received a free copy of the book and am reviewing it deliberately.

Quest for Redemption is an engaging continuation of Sven's journey, filled with action, emotional moments, and new allies. The rescue mission adds tension, and the themes of resilience and family loyalty shine through. However, some plot twists felt a bit predictable. Despite that, it's a solid sequel for fans of the series and leaves you eager to see what happens next.

I was surprised at how nimbly the author was able to tell the story of survival from point of view of several characters.
Sven (an interesting female name) and Ryker have chemistry for sure.
    As do Aria and Sport.
And the Ka-sharks make formidable enemies.
The simulations will tug at your mind the same way the Matrix movies did.
Focus, pay attention, and hold on.
And as I said in the headline, it may look like a book for young adults, but it has plenty of "R-rated" scenes.

I loved reading this book because it had an exciting story that kept me interested. The characters made it a really fun read, which I am still in the process of. I can't wait to see how this science fiction will end

Science fiction, adventure fantasy, mystery and rich imagination are embedded in the plot of this magnificent space tale for teenagers and coming of age. This is a highly entertaining novel containing a well-developed world 700 years after the destruction of humanity, a sympathetic main character, a society of a new race of Ka-sharks, hidden developments of military technology and much more. A book for the young generation.

This is the second book of the Quest for Survival, and with this follow up, it makes it a great sequal, it's richer in the story and the characters, and the twists and plots, keeps you engaged and it's so gripping that you can help being deeply touched by Sven and her family and what happened to them, and how they keep fighting and survival all these challenges. There are sadness and heartbreaks, it makes the story whole.
