BIOGRAPHY

Now retired, Jan Hill grew up in country Victoria, Australia. The local landscape and wildlife consisted of farms, gold mines, rivers and old logging tracks in the mountains where there was an abundance of snakes, rabbits, birds, and other wildlife. Jan, a mother of three has always loved nature and is an avid pet owner. Jan and her late husband moved to Far North Queensland in the 1980’s where they had a 47-acre weekend property on the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland. Sitting on the front veranda watching how the Lorikeets interacted with one another and other wildlife inspired the writing of the Lorikeet’s series.
