Your poetry is deeply personal and reflective. What first inspired you to start writing about your own life challenges and transformation?
I began writing as a way to process my own life experiences—especially moments of struggle, faith, and personal transformation. Poetry became a safe space where I could be honest without having to explain myself fully. What started as personal reflection eventually became something larger when I realized that my experiences, while deeply personal, were also universal. Writing allowed me to transform pain into understanding and growth, and I felt called to share that journey in case it could help someone else feel less alone.
Both of your books have earned Global Book Awards—how has this recognition impacted you as a motivational poet?
Receiving Global Book Award recognition was deeply humbling. It affirmed that honest, faith-rooted writing can resonate beyond my own story. Rather than changing why I write, the recognition strengthened my responsibility to remain authentic and intentional. It reminded me that quiet, heartfelt messages still matter and that poetry can have a meaningful place in personal growth and healing.
In Inspiring Book of Poems, Dreams, and Stories, you share your spiritual journey and encounters with God. How has your faith shaped your writing style and message?
My faith shapes my writing through its gentleness rather than doctrine. I write from a place of trust, reflection, and listening. Faith, for me, is woven into how I approach hope, grace, forgiveness, and resilience. I try to create space for readers to reflect on their own spiritual journey—wherever they are—without pressure or instruction, allowing faith to feel personal and accessible.
Your work blends humor, sadness, seriousness, and hope. How do you balance these emotional tones while keeping your message relatable?
Life itself holds many emotions at once, and I don’t try to separate them in my writing. Humor softens heaviness, sadness brings honesty, seriousness grounds the message, and hope offers forward movement. I write the way real emotions arrive—layered and imperfect—so readers can recognize themselves in the balance.
What does “stop surviving and start living” mean to you personally, and how do your poems guide readers toward that mindset?
To me, “stop surviving and start living” means moving beyond endurance and reclaiming intention. It’s about recognizing worth, setting boundaries, and choosing presence rather than fear. My poems invite readers to pause and reflect on where they may be living on autopilot, offering gentle encouragement to step into fuller, more conscious living.
In Unleashing the Power Within, which poem was the hardest for you to write, and why?
The hardest poems were those that required confronting boundaries, self-worth, and inner truth. Writing them meant sitting with vulnerability without softening it too much. These poems challenged me to be honest without defensiveness and compassionate without minimizing what had been learned.
Many readers describe your poetry as empowering. What is the main message you hope people carry with them after reading your books?
I hope readers walk away knowing they are allowed to grow without guilt, heal without rushing, and honor themselves without apology. If my writing leaves them feeling seen, steadier, and more trusting of their inner voice, then it has done its work.
How did your own journey of self-discovery influence the structure and direction of Unleashing the Power Within?
The structure reflects an inward journey rather than a linear lesson. The poems follow emotional movement—fear, courage, reflection, release, and renewal—because that mirrors real healing. I wanted the book to feel like companionship rather than instruction.
Can you share a personal moment when you had to break limitations and take control of your own destiny?
There came a point when I realized that waiting to feel “ready” was keeping me stuck. Choosing to publish my work was an act of claiming my voice and trusting its value. That decision marked a shift from self-doubt to ownership of my path.
Your books encourage self-love through a spiritual lens. How do you approach writing about growth while remaining authentic and vulnerable?
I write from where I am, not where I think I should be. Vulnerability comes from honesty, not exposure. I share truth without oversharing, allowing readers to connect through feeling rather than detail. Authenticity, for me, is about presence and integrity in the message.
As a motivational poet, what role do you believe poetry plays in healing, empowerment, and emotional transformation?
Poetry creates space. It doesn’t demand answers—it invites reflection. A single line can help someone breathe differently, think gently, or feel understood. Healing often begins when we feel seen, and poetry allows that connection to happen quietly and powerfully.
What reactions or messages from readers have touched you the most since releasing your books?
The messages that touch me most are when readers say the words met them exactly where they were. Hearing that my poems helped calm anxiety, bring comfort during grief, or restore a sense of worth means everything to me. Knowing my writing felt honest rather than instructive—and supportive rather than perfect—reaffirms why I write.
How do you keep yourself inspired, especially when writing about themes that require deep introspection and honesty?
I stay inspired by allowing stillness. I listen—to life, faith, and my own inner rhythms. I don’t force inspiration; I let it arrive through reflection, prayer, journaling, and everyday moments. Honesty always leads the process.
What can readers look forward to from you next? Are there new themes or projects you’re excited to explore?
I’m currently working on the audiobook version of Unleashing the Power Within. Hearing the poems spoken aloud adds an intimate layer of connection, especially for readers who experience poetry emotionally through sound. I’m excited to explore how voice deepens the message of healing, reflection, and empowerment.
