Elle Stockton has a knack for quickly painting vivid images of her characters and settings. The stories are engaging, with a variety of suspense, romance and fun. It's hard to put this book down.

Elle Stockton has added "Noir" crime fiction to her new collection of short stories. There is quite a variety of other genres included, i.e. horror, romance, and touching emotional stories. I highly recommend this book which provides some respite from one's day-to-day worries, while still challenging one to think.

Ms. Stockton is a master of concisely painting clear images of her characters and settings. This time, she includes a few longer short stories, and we get to have a greater understanding of how her characters became who they are. There is a lot of variety here. Genres include psychological drama of a "misfit," paranormal dark fantasy, and horror. Her style includes surprise, pathos, humor, and even a touch of cultural anthropology. One of the stories is just plain fun, the others have greater depth yet can be read on multiple levels. This book is an adventure, I did not want to end. I highly recommend it.

I couldn't turn the pages past enough! Once again, Elle paints detailed images which carry the reader into her stories, then --surprise! There's a twist. Highly recommended.
