Tell us about your life and your struggles.
I have the same type of struggles as the next person, sometimes in a smaller way and sometimes in a larger way. One thing for certain, problems or no problems, I love my life.
How passionate are you about writing?
I’m very passionate about writing. I want to help others to reach their full potential in life. I do all of the research in order to present information in a direct, concise manner so that others can reap the benefits in a shorter time period.
How long have you been writing and what inspired you to become a writer?
I’ve been writing for over six years professionally, but always enjoyed writing poetry and a child. My daughter has been my biggest inspiration for my books.
How did you get the idea for your first book?
My first book was on life skills. My daughter was a single mother getting ready to move out on her own with my grandson and I wanted to make sure she had the ability to take care of both of them. As a parent, we tend to do everything around the home without including our children, so the book was my way to writing out everything pertinent to caring for a home and yourself.
While choosing a name for your character, what aspects do you consider that determines what you finally call them?
No characters in my books. My books are non-fiction.
Do authors in general and you in particular plan series beforehand or do they just happen?
As far as my books, I write on what is important to others such as life skills, parenting, step-parenting and leadership.
How do you choose which stories to tell?
I give information pertinent to others lives.
Do you ever get writer’s block?
Of course, everyone gets writer’s block at one time or another. The cure for me is relaxation and doing something to completely take my mind off of the block and then go back to it later.
Do you have a “reader” in mind while writing?
Yes – people that want to improve their life with the information I’m writing on.
Who is the first person to read the first draft of your books?
I read the first draft and then enlist help from others.
How do you get reviews? Which was the best review you ever got?
I’ve received free and paid reviews. I’ve had bloggers review and professional book reviewers write reviews on my books that I share on my website.
What does the word “story” signifies for you?
People can relate to the real-life stories I use because perhaps they have experienced the same thing in one way or another.
Do you think an author should be bound by Genre?
No – you can write in any Genre you choose.
Are you currently working on anything?
I’m working on a new book that will be out later this summer.
Do you have a special time or place for writing?
I like to write in the early morning in my home office.
How do you promote your work? How will AllAuthor (QuotesRain) help you in your book promotion and sales, would you like to refer this platform to your author friends?
I promote my work on several different platforms such as QuotesRain, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and my own websites. I also utilize mailing lists for promotion as well as online ads.
Would you like to share something with your readers and fans?
I would like to encourage readers to write online reviews on sites such as QuotesRain, Amazon or Goodreads when they have finished reading a book. Reviews help authors to promote their work.
