About
I hope to become an independent ebook editor in my retirement. I have reviews posted on Amazon, Goodreads and Bookbub with one to soon come out on Booksprout. I have a Facebook and a Twitter, but I don't usually tweet original tweets because I am not a 140-or-fewer-characters type of thinker.
I am a young retiree in that I am old enough to draw from my retirement account but not old enough to draw social security, thus the desire to make a little on the side from editing so I can maybe travel a bit in the country. I don't dare to hope to travel outside the country unless I find a generous benefactor, though I do speak a bit of Spanish and I am learning German (I am also studying High Valeryan and Klingon, but those are for fun and shiny giggles). I studied Latin in high school and Spanish as my college major. I liked Latin better, but my college didn't have a major in it, so I went for Spanish, aka "lazy Latin" (according to my high school Latin teacher, anyway). I then spent 30 years teaching it to teenagers, some of whom listened and some of whom decided to pretend they already knew everything they would ever need to get on in the world because they could ask Siri or say "OK, Google,..." and ask a question. They forget those things have to be paid for by having a job... *sigh* So I retired before I had to smack some parents for letting social media raise their offspring, thus landing myself in jail. Me in jail does not equal good for my own daughters or fun and good access to books that I like!
I also research genealogy for my own family and for others. It has shown me some really interesting things about the history of my family and that it is not at all what my mother would have had me believe. I am rather enjoying it, truth be told!
