Where were you born and where did you grow up? What was your childhood like?
I was born and raised in Newport KY famous for the Mob stories and home of the tommy gun. I had a rough childhood and liked to write and draw.
How did you finally decide to write a book and publish it in 2014?
I wanted to finally make a home for the stories I wrote and into the public's hands instead of just mine.
Your ability to write books in different genres is very impressive. Did you ever decide which genre is your favourite?
I like the historical ways of how America was made. I also love the fantasy of other wordly beings. I don't have a favorite which is why I dabble in all genres.
Who is Peter Willows, and what is the dilemma in his life?
Peter is a husband and soon to be father in Kentucky who was tasked by the government to get intel on a French man that is threatening his town's supplies. He was faced with tragedy returning from overseas and had to rebuild his life.
How did you come up with the plot of Essence of Time? How did you come up with the names of the books in the Essence Trilogy?
I wanted romance, adventure, and drama so each chapter takes place in a different scene. I like books that get to the point and doesn't have the unnecessary fillers that most readers just skim over. Book One focuses on the aspect that Time never stops so each second is important, Book Two is focused on the good and bad of Love, and Book Three will be about the Essence of Family.
Do you think that writing is your escape from reality, like working is an escape from reality for Grant from Cantonelli's Crest: Purple Haven?
I have always said writing is my therapy. Grant's work ethic in Cantonelli's Crest cost him friends and family. His new life gave him a chance of correcting his mistakes in his human life.
Do you believe vampires exist in real life? If you ever met one, and they were harmless, what would you say to them?
No, but it would be awesome if they did! I would ask how old they are and how they live.
What is Peter's Pirate about? What is the message you’re trying to impart through this book?
It is a short story about a boy that get's bullied for being different. That staying strong in your beliefs is ok and you must have the courage to stand up for yourself.
Do you have a day job? Have you ever considered writing as a full time job?
Yes, I really want writing to be my fulltime job but it has to pay the bills first!
What are some other things that you’re passionate about, apart from writing? What are some of your hobbies?
I am very passionate about animals. Dogs in particular. They are so innocent and adorable! Also I support anything about Autism. My 14 year old has Aspergers and he is so awesome! I like to go camping and make crafts.
At what point did you begin considering yourself to be an author? What is your ultimate goal as an author?
The moment stories would come to me in dreams and I would hurry to wake up and write it down before they vanished. To be successful and write that one book that people will never forget.
What is the biggest challenge that you have had to face as an author?
To be given a chance by reputable publishers
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Take one day at a time.
What book ideas are you currently working on?
I have 5 work in progresses. One is a children's book about a pitbull puppy.
