BIOGRAPHY

Elena Shelest immigrated to the U.S. from Ukraine as a teen. She currently resides in the Pacific NW with her husband, two busy kids, and three pets.

Elena's first book, The Seven Lives of Grace, was inspired by her desire to help others discover their gifts, step out of their comfort zone, and live up to their potential.

Elena is an author, an artist, a nurse, and an avid reader of fantasy and inspirational books. Through her stories, she hopes to encourage others to look beyond what's possible and believe in everyday miracles.

      • In my first novel, The Seven Lives of Grace, the main character goes through a series of events that help her overcome self-imposed limitations and doubts. She tries different things, some magical and some not so much, that help her step out of her comfort zone. A few of her insecurities I drew from my personal life. My hope is that by sharing life lessons in whimsical and at times comical form would help readers grow while they are having fun following a fictional story.

      • It all started with a few "what if" questions. What if your dreams came true? What if you got a magical inheritance that could help you go after what you wanted? I always liked reading fantasy for that reason - it explores the things that seemed impossible. I wanted to be able to connect this magical thinking with real-life issues that we could all relate to and draw inspiration from.
