Leslie had a career in acting before she went back to school to become a teacher. She is passionate about children, specialized in special education, has MAT and has taught in grades 3-11.
She wrote her book, "Education Aggravation: A Retired Teacher's View from the Trenches - A Call to Action" after she retired because she feels that politicians, parents, even some teachers are focused on everything but the students.
Following a bout with cancer and chemo shortly after she published, Leslie has begun to write again and hopes to have another book out by the end of the year.

Did you always have a passion for writing, or was it something that developed over time?
I have always had a passion for writing, especially poetry and opinion pieces. On birthdays, anniversaries, and on special occasions, I would write poetry for and about the celebrant. When I had a meaningful experience, I would write a poem. A lot of time, I was into journaling, especially after I read “The Artist’s Way.” We would be on a movie set waiting for them to call us, and I’d be journalling. I loved debating issues, so I would stand by my ideals and write them out. There is much passion in my self-expression because I feel that way about life. I write things I hear or read that I need to remember for the future or that I find inspirational. Did I answer the question yet? (
