This book also introduces the Fugitives, spirits who escaped Candle Face's lair. They're hiding, and she's looking for them. Protecting them is now part of the case.
Every testimony in this book carries information. Some of it is obvious. Some of it is buried. If you worked through Book One, you know how this operates. If you're starting here, you'll catch up fast. The spirits don't waste time, and neither do I.
