I don't write novels, but I have incorporated personal experiences into several of my titles, specifically the Divine Reflections trilogy: https://www.amazon.com/Divine-Reflections-Times-Seasons-Peck-ebook/dp/B00BBOO7C6; https://www.amazon.com/Divine-Reflections-Natural-Phenomena-Peck-ebook/dp/B00I8ANZYW; and https://www.amazon.com/Divine-Reflections-Living-Things-Peck-ebook/dp/B00I99YIAW. In addition, my personal experiences are in Spiritual Lessons from a Scam (https://www.amazon.com/Spiritual-Lessons-Scam-Alexander-Peck/dp/0987627945); Divine Insights from Human Life (https://www.amazon.com/Divine-Insights-Human-Life-Peck-ebook/dp/B00ID0CMB4); and Abundant Living on Low Income (https://www.amazon.com/Abundant-Living-Low-Income-Peck-ebook/dp/B01CJJJ6AE).
No, but looking back, my gift of writing became apparent when I was in high school. I did a lot of writing and editing of various kinds during my working career. It was only after retirement that I got into spiritual and inspirational writing.
I think people are continuing to read, but more on their electronic devices and less in paper books. But there is still need for physical books, especially for the older generations who are not likely to adapt to digital reading or if they do, will always prefer paper books.
It would be Pathway to Life through the Holy Scriptures -- https://www.amazon.com/Pathway-Life-Through-Holy-Scriptures/dp/0987090526. The reason is that while this book may still serve Christian readers, my perspective on parts of it has changed and I would like to bring the book up to date with my present views.
I was trained during my working career to write clearly and conscisely, in a way that was easy to read and follow. Later I took a journalism course, which reinforced some of these principles and introduced me to other ones. All in all, my writing style has not changed in a major way. I also edit other people's writing and they often comment how much clearer and better flowing their writing has been made.
The cover and title are the first impressions a potential reader gets from a book, so they are very important. The cover should be appropriate to the content and draw attention in a positive way. The title should clearly express what the book is about in a way that it draws the reader in, as a result of which they want to learn more.
As a part of my career in various capacities, including editing, since 1976. For interest and as a result of inspiration toward creating books and websites since 2006.
