I understand you grew up in Oklahoma. What is one memory from your childhood there that really resounds with you, even today?

One thing from my childhood that I will always remember is just being able to run the streets, and play all over town without any worries or trouble. It was a freedom of small town living that doesn’t really exist now.

Who has been the biggest inspiration in your life?

My grandmother and mother are my biggest inspirations in life. They are both strong women that taught me how to love.

How long did it take you to write your first novel in 2015? What are some things you learnt about the behind-the-scenes aspect of a book during this time that you never would've guessed before?

It took me about 6 months to write my first novel because I was only writing on and off when I felt like it. I learned a lot the editing process that I had no idea about. There can be several rounds of editing that can be very tedious.

As an erotic romance writer, would you ever write about your own personal life or experiences in that area?

I can say that I would never write about my own personal life although I am “inspired” by my own experiences sometimes.

Charlie (Heart's Desire) fell for Jake the moment she saw him. Do you believe that love at first sight happens in real life? If so, has it ever happened to you? If not, why?

Yes, I absolutely believe that love at first sight happens. If so, has it ever happened to you? I can honestly say that I don’t remember not ever loving my husband, and we first met I felt a connection to him immediately, so yes it has happened to me.

What are some lesser discussed topics or messages that you like to weave into your books? If anything, what is one thing you hope your readers will take away from your books?

There are several different topics that I would like to write about, one being overcoming abuse or an abusive situation. I hope my readers get to relax and enjoy the story. I want my books to be a getaway, something that is entertaining.

What kind of research, regarding the FBI and mobsters, that you had to do for your book "Chasing Desires"? Where do you like to go for most of your research work?

I researched mostly on the internet, so I’m sure my search history is questionable lol, but that is usually where I go since I don’t know any mobsters or FBI agents personally. The other stuff just comes from books, movies, TV, and my imagination.

From the first female protagonist you ever created "Korinne Taylor" to the most recent "Chase Johnson", how has the way you portrayed them and their emotions changed? What are some similarities between these two women?

Korrine was a lot more sensitive and a little naïve, whereas Chase was always head strong and independent. What are some similarities between these two women? The similarities between the characters are that they are both strong women who care a great deal about their loved ones. They also both evolved in character as their stories developed.

Do your siblings read your books? If so, do they have a favourite?

No, my siblings don’t read my books. I have two younger brothers, so they don’t particularly read romance novels.

If you were to branch out and write a book in a different genre, what genre would you like to explore?

I think I would like to explore the paranormal genre. It’s completely different, and I absolutely love science fiction.

What is one thing that always manages to put a smile on your face?

Music always makes me smile. The right song can brighten my mood so fast.

What are some important writing and marketing tips you've been the past 3 years of being an author?

I believe getting involved in different groups not just for promotion, but to socialize with readers can make a big difference. I also think having a website is a good idea, and it’s something that I’m working on creating.

When it comes to a good book, what wins in the end: talent or practice and experience?

I think talent is a must have, but both practice and experience are important as well. I’ve definitely gotten better with each book, and I don’t make some of the mistakes that I made in the past.
