We moved from Kansas to NC almost 6 years ago.
What sort of cultural, spiritual, or social value do you think reading and books hold?Reading and books bring people together, whether it's in a book club, or simply meeting someone that has the same interest in books/stories. Books/Reading bring more imagination to people as well.
What attracted you to begin a career as a full-time author?Writing is something I've always done. I found it easier to express myself in writing. I love getting the stories out of my head and onto paper.
How do you keep your fitness training knowledge up to date?My fitness career is another passion so I make sure I'm studying, reading articles and trying new programs all the time. It helps with my depression and anxiety so I need to stay up to date.
Where did you first meet C.C., Fuzzy, & Darth Vader?Darth Vader was given to us, Fuzzy and CC are rescue cats. Fuzzy we met in the vet's office and CC was found in storm by a dumpster. They are amazing cats.
What challenges did you face while publishing your debut novel, Zelina: The First Glyph? My biggest challenge is editing and marketing.
Who inspired the character of 16-year old girl, Zelina? There isn't one person that she's inspired by but Zelina hold many characteristics of many people I know. The entire started off as a short story that blossomed into much more.
What advice would you like to give writers who are struggling with their first novels? As was told to me, you simply need to write. Write. Write. Write. Even if it's crap, write it. When you find a character that speaks to you and the story develops even more, you keep writing it.
Do you ever leave book reviews on other author's books? What do reviews mean to you?I do leave book reviews. I feel they are important. I like to know what people think of Zelina and her adventures. Whether it's good or bad, reviews can let me know where I need to make changes next time, what I can improve upon.
Your Instagram posts look incredibly good. Do you like spending time on social media?Since my fitness business is pretty much online, social media is very important. I try to post once a day then get back to the real world, to what's going on around me.
How do you feel about the rise in digital books in recent years?Digital books are interesting. I will always pick a real book over a digital. You can get more digital books because they take up less room and are less expensive, but there's nothing like holding a book in your hands or the smell of a new book.
Where can readers find out more about you and your books?www.AuthorStephanieFaye.com
On any normal day, what would you be doing if you weren't writing?I'd be at the beach, reading, or watching some tv with my family.
What are you working on at the moment? What is it about?I'm finishing up editing book two of the Zelina series (hope to have that out by Christmas) and writing book three.
Lastly, what are your thoughts and opinions on AllAuthor and its services?AllAuthor has been an amazing tool for my book. It has amazing graphics and great ways to advertise books.
