Susan thought she had finally put the past behind her.
At sixty-three, after nearly forty-five years of marriage, she never expected to find herself thinking about James again—the young man she had loved decades earlier, the man whose heart she had broken, and the man she had never truly stopped loving.
Then her husband’s alleged affair shatters the life she thought was secure.
And the silver ballerina necklace begins calling to her once again.
Could it really send her back?
Susan knows returning to 1967 could mean facing James and the pain she caused him all over again. He may hate her. He may refuse to forgive her. But the possibility of seeing him again is impossible to resist.
So Susan takes the chance.
This time, however, she isn't alone.
Her friends Joy and Alice travel with her, each hoping that life in 1967 might bring them something they haven't found in the future. They arrive in London ready for adventure, romance, and a chance to experience a world that exists only in their memories and imaginations.
But Susan has only one thing on her mind.
James.
When she finally encounters him again, the reunion is anything but simple. The man she remembers is still there beneath the anger, the hurt, and the years they have lost. Susan must find a way through the resentment between them while wondering whether their love can possibly survive everything that has happened.
As Susan and James are drawn back toward each other, she begins to imagine something she never dared hope for before:
What if she could stay?
What if the past could become her future?
But while Susan is consumed by the possibility of finally having the life and love she has always wanted, Joy and Alice are discovering that their own dreams may not lie in 1967.
And Susan may have forgotten one very important thing:
She isn't the only one who gets to decide when the journey ends.
