  - I've always had a vivid imagination and was an avid gamer at one time. My first attempt at writing came when I was in college, playing DND. I crafted a dungeon first, and a world to encompass it after.
    Years later, after my two daughters were born, they found the stories in the world I created and asked me to write on with them as the protagonists. I did so for several months and read each chapter as a bedtime story.
    Life got in the way and I stopped until a few years ago when my now adult daughters asked me to finish that story. Since then, I've written one fiction novel, two nonfictions, and many short stories, several of which I've included in my first collection, Wicked Shadow Whispers.
    Alas, I have yet to finish their story.

  - Not even in the least. Growing up in Third Ward, Houston, Texas was not easy. It was a daily struggle just to get through each day without conflict. I found solace in books but never thought I could write one, much less make a career out of it.

- Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?

  - I do read the reviews. I think it's important to grow as a writer. So far, I've not had many and most are good with a couple of exceptions. If they give details on what they didn't like, I try to do better. However, if they use generalizations, I ignore them as outliers.

  - Don't let others influence the direction you choose for your future. Ignore them. Shut them out. Listen to your heart because it will guide you to a better path than anything else. Money is not everything, but being happy with who you are is.
